Job Description BioLife Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and serve as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. The role involves determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable results.
About the role
Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for findings that require medical or technical guidance.
Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
Manage employee incidents with occupational health/ER evaluation when necessary.
Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats.
What you bring to Takeda
High school diploma or equivalent; graduate degree in an accredited nursing program with state licensure.
Current state license: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
Meet state requirements for basic IV therapy.
Complete FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

BioLife Compensation and Benefits Summary
Location: USA - VA - Chesapeake
Hourly Wage Range: $31.92 - $43.89, subject to experience, qualifications, and local wage laws.
U.S. employees may qualify for short‑term incentives, 401(k) plan with company match, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, volunteer time off, company holidays, and wellness benefits.
Paid sick time up to 80 hours per calendar year and paid vacation up to 120 hours for new hires.
