Salary $65,000
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide enhances post release services for UC who would benefit from intensive, clinical case management services.
Encourages children served to express their feelings and discuss what is happening in their lives, and help them to develop insight into themselves and their relationships.
Guides children served in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with their problems.
Prepares and maintain all required treatment records and reports.
Counsels children, individually and in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, and making changes.
Acts as client advocates in order to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge in conjunction with children served.
Collaborates with other staff members to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans.
Evaluates children's served physical or mental condition based on review of client information.
Meets with families, probation officers, police, and other interested parties in order to exchange necessary information during the treatment process.
Refers children served, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.
Counsels family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting children served.
Modifies treatment activities and approaches as needed in order to comply with changes in children served status.
Discusses with individual patients their plans for life after leaving therapy.
Gathers information about community mental health needs and resources that could be used in conjunction with therapy.
Monitors children served use of medications.
Assess the safety and appropriateness of the placement on an ongoing basis using child welfare principles and social work best practices and conduct calls, interviews, and home visits.
Build a network of local pro bono legal resources, food and clothing banks, mental health services and care providers to establish services for youth.
Participate in regular training and communication sessions with on-site and case work supervisor and headquarters staff.
Position requires up to 50 percent of in state and/or out of state travel with limited notice.
Ability to perform duties and services remotely from home.
Qualifications Required
Minimum of a Master's Degree in Psychology, Sociology, or other relevant behavioral science in which direct clinical experience is a requirement, commensurate experience in relevant field may be acceptable in lieu of degree
Three years or more years of working with the program population.
Bilingual in English/Spanish.
Preferred
Master's degree in Psychology, Sociology, or other relevant behavioral science.
Five years or more years of working with the program population.
