MaineHealth's Clinical Documentation Management Program is seeking Registered Nurse - Clinical Documentation Specialist to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); however, candidates with an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) will also be considered. CDI Specialist experience is preferred but not required. A minimum of five years of Acute Registered Nurse experience is required.

This is a full-time, day-shift position consisting of 8-hour shifts scheduled between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Summary The Clinical Documentation Specialist role is responsible for facilitating the improvement in the overall quality and completeness of medical record documentation, obtaining appropriate clinical documentation through extensive interaction with providers nursing staff, and other caregivers and coordinating with coding staff to ensure reimbursement is received for patient services rendered.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: Graduate of an accredited School or Nursing, BSN preferred.

License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Nurse required.

Experience: Five years of acute care nursing experience required.
