Lead Diesel Mechanic

Clean Harbors is seeking a Lead Diesel Mechanic to join our safety‑conscious team. The Lead Diesel Mechanic will oversee daily shop operations, supervise maintenance work, ensure fleet DOT compliance, and maintain service and parts records.
Responsibilities
Ensure Health & Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices.
Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and corrective actions, including off‑site road repairs/service calls.
Complete daily checklists and ensure units meet daily maintenance duties.
Submit all required paperwork for PM schedules.
Conduct safety checks & annual vehicle inspections per provincial & federal laws.
Ensure equipment is parked in compliance with facility permit and DOT requirements.
Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to all applicable SOPs.
Perform other assignments as directed by management.
Understand Clean Compliance Standards.
Qualifications
5–7 years of diesel engine experience.
1+ year DOT inspection experience.
Proficiency in electrical, computer, ECMs, fuel, air systems, ABS, hydraulic systems, and engines.
Experience with heavy‑duty forklift, roll‑off truck, forklift, pick‑up truck, box truck, tractor, and tanker maintenance.
Proficiency in tooling and diagnostic equipment maintenance.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Pass background, drug, and physical test upon hire.
