Lead Diesel Mechanic

to join their safety-conscious team! The Lead Diesel Mechanic oversees day‑to‑day shop operations, supervises maintenance work, ensures DOT compliance, and maintains service and parts records.

Base pay range $17.00/hr - $50.00/hr

Responsibilities

Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.

Perform preventative maintenance, conduct inspections, troubleshoot, diagnose failures & deficiencies, and perform necessary corrections—including off‑site road repairs/service calls.

Complete the daily checklist for proper operation of the unit being operated.

Ensure units have daily maintenance duties performed and communicate any problems or issues immediately.

Complete and submit all associated paperwork for tracking PM schedules.

Conduct safety checks & annual vehicle inspections in accordance with provincial & federal laws.

Ensure equipment is properly parked in compliance with facility permit and DOT requirements.

Ensure work meets all applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures.

Maintain a clean work environment.

Perform other assignments as assigned by management.

Understand Clean Compliance Standard.

Qualifications

5‑7 years of diesel engine experience.

1+ years DOT inspection experience required.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Proficiency in all aspects including electrical, computer, ECMs, fuel, air systems, ABS, hydraulic systems, engines, etc.

Demonstrated proficiency in diagnostic, repair, and maintenance of heavy‑duty forklifts, roll‑off trucks, forklifts, pick‑up trucks, box trucks, tractors, and tankers.

Demonstrated proficiency in tooling and equipment diagnostics, repair, and maintenance.

Ability to pass a background, drug, and physical test upon hire.
