Electro-Mechanical Technician Senior – Second Shift
to support the Manufacturing team in El Segundo, CA.
Job Summary
The Electro-Mechanical Technician Senior will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in support of manufacturing of space flight sub-systems and support equipment. This role requires working the second shift.
This position’s internal job code is Electro-Mechanical Technician. Our team is currently hiring for grade 24.
Position Responsibilities
Electro-Mechanical assembly of PCB assemblies into product chassis
Assemble Electro-Mechanical assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications, and written assembly and standard operating procedures
Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, micrometers and calipers
Perform visual inspection of Electro-Mechanical assemblies to drawings, engineering specifications, and written assembly, integration and test procedures
Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications
Document non-conformances and associated rework/repair
Soldering and reworking of through-hole and SMT components
Support conformal coat, masking, epoxy application and coating
Security Clearance And Export Control Requirements
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 (US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
High school diploma or GED
3-5 years of relevant experience in Electro-Mechanical assembly on high reliability products
Industry and/or Trade School training
Working knowledge of ESD, IPC J-STD-001, and IPC-A-610 standards
Experience with a variety of assembly techniques and tools (e.g., epoxy, thread-locker, torque wrench, soldering iron, microscope)
3-5 years of soldering experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
> 5+ years experience building a variety of component-level space products (e.g., avionics boxes, batteries, mechanisms, optics, printed circuit board assemblies, solar arrays)
IPC J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 certification
Experience working in at least a 100,000 Class cleanroom environment
Ability to obtain clearance
Ability to travel
Shift
This role will be on 2nd Shift.
