Overview Capitol Vein & Laser Centers, a division of USFAS, is seeking a skilled

Vein & Vascular Physician

to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience diagnosing, managing, and treating a broad spectrum of venous disorders, including varicose veins, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and chronic venous insufficiency (CVI). This is an opportunity to deliver cutting‑edge, patient‑focused care in a collaborative, innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients with venous disorders.

Interpret diagnostic studies, including Doppler ultrasound, venography, transillumination, and vascular imaging; order advanced studies (CT, MRI, IVUS) as appropriate.

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

Perform minimally invasive procedures: endovenous thermal and non‑thermal ablation, phlebectomy, and sclerotherapy.

Maintain sterile technique and adhere to Ambulatory Surgery Center protocols.

Perform duplex ultrasound to assess venous anatomy, detect reflux, identify thrombosis, and differentiate veins from surrounding structures.

Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies and best practices into clinical care.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and practice monitoring.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic patient care.

Remain current with BLS certification and advances in venous disease management.

Engage in research, clinical trials, and medical education activities.

Provide patient education on lifestyle modifications, preventive measures, and treatment options.

Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records and communications.

Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.

Provide consultations, second opinions, and management of complex venous cases.

Manage chronic venous conditions, post‑procedure care, adverse events, and complications.

Demonstrate expertise in lymphedema, lower extremity wounds, and complex leg edema management.

Advocate for patient access to advanced venous treatments.

Develop and implement clinical protocols and guidelines.

Participate in community outreach and educational programs.

Provide compassionate, patient‑centered care.

Requirements

Medical degree from an accredited institution (MD or DO).

Board certification in General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, or a related specialty.

Valid medical license in practicing jurisdiction(s).

Proficiency in advanced diagnostic techniques and minimally invasive venous procedures.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged standing (4–8 hours per day) during patient evaluations and procedures.

Ambulation between consultation and procedure rooms.

Travel to and from the office as needed.

Visual acuity and manual dexterity for surgical and ultrasound‑guided procedures.

Perform percutaneous vascular access, microphlebectomy, tumescent and local anesthesia, and sclerotherapy for veins of all sizes.
