Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
2 to 3 years of experience
Pharmacist Examining Board of Canada certification
Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
Responsibilities
Advise customers on indications, contraindications, adverse effects, drug interactions and dosage
Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to customers or to other health care professionals
Order and maintain stock of pharmaceutical supplies
Advise customers on selection and use of non‑prescription medication
Check prescriptions for proper dosage
Compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring and mixing the correct quantities of drugs and other ingredients
Hire and train staff
Maintain medication profiles of customers, including registry of poisons, narcotics and controlled drugs
Manage the storage, packaging and distribution of medicinal products
Supervise and coordinate the activities of other pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, pharmacy technicians and other staff
