Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Position Overview We are seeking a
licensed Pharmacist
to join a growing pharmacy team in
Charlottesville, VA
. This is a
contract-to-hire opportunity
offering competitive pay and a consistent weekday schedule. The Pharmacist will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications, providing patient education, supervising pharmacy staff, and supporting clinical and operational pharmacy functions.
Home Infusion experience is a plus.
Key Responsibilities Accept, review, and dispense prescription medications in compliance with state and federal regulations Ensure prescribed medications are appropriate for each patient Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage or potential drug-related problems Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation Provide patient counseling on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosage, storage, side effects, and drug interactions Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices (e.g., blood pressure monitors, glucose meters) Prepare and compound medications for internal or external use Prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures and safety standards Provide clinical services such as smoking cessation counseling, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management Maintain appropriate inventory levels of pharmaceutical and medical supplies Supervise pharmacy technicians, clerks, interns, and other support staff Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required Active Pharmacist license in Northern Virginia required Licensed and in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy Home Infusion pharmacy experience
