Responsibilities
Plan, program, and develop healthcare departments within large, complex medical facilities.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver specific project components (e.g., departments, floors) on schedule and within budgets.
Guide and manage user/client expectations by coordinating and running user meetings for needs assessment to prepare functional and space programs.
Articulate and communicate the client’s vision, goals, and objectives through development of the project work plan during the planning phase.
Participate in client presentations and project meetings, providing direction for team members and consultants; begin presenting to upper-level client groups.
Assist the production team to produce documents consistent with the owner's goals and project objectives; answer clinically significant questions and provide solutions. Oversee the shop drawing review process.
Mentor less experienced planning team members.
Travel to clients may be required depending on client needs.
Qualifications
Minimum of ten years of recent experience in planning, programming, and developing healthcare departments within large, complex medical facilities.
Broad base of experience with inpatient, ambulatory, diagnostic, and academic medical facilities; projects completed with multiple clients preferred.
Thorough knowledge of codes and standards related to healthcare facilities, including municipal, State, IBC, ADA, ANSI, NFPA, FGI Guidelines, and specialty-specific standards.
Software
Proficiency in Revit required.
AutoCAD preferred.
Education
Associate’s degree in architecture, engineering, planning, or related field required; architectural degree preferred.
Professional registration preferred.
