Job Overview The Barnabas Health Behavioral Health Center is a 100‑bed acute care psychiatric facility offering inpatient and intensive outpatient programs. Registered Nurses assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for psychiatric patients in accordance with the New Jersey Nurse Practice Act and Barnabas Health policies.
Qualifications
ASN or Nursing Diploma
Strong communication and organizational skills
Proficient computer skills
Certifications and Licenses Required
BLS certification
Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
Preferred
BSN
Minimum two (2) years' experience in an inpatient setting
One (1) year experience in a psychiatric/chemical dependency field
Scheduling Requirements
Full Time, Day
Essential Functions
The Registered Nurse provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, ensuring ethical practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
Assures safety in practice, applying evidence‑based practice, communicating with the patient care team, and utilizing available resources.
Reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
Comprends the patient population served and supervises task delegation to appropriate team members.
Consistently sets priorities and evaluates outcomes through appropriate interventions.
Utilizes the nursing process to integrate care, individually tailoring the plan of care.
