Position Overview Aegis Power Systems is seeking a highly skilled and hands‑on Electronics Laboratory Technician to support our electrical engineering team in developing and testing advanced power electronics. This role is ideal for someone with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and a passion for solving real‑world engineering challenges through testing, troubleshooting, and technical innovation.

As part of our collaborative engineering environment, you will work on AC‑DC, DC‑AC, and DC‑DC power conversion systems used in mission‑critical defense, aerospace, embedded computing, and telecommunications applications. You’ll design and execute test procedures, build and maintain test fixtures, analyze performance data, and support the development of cutting‑edge power electronics.

This role is perfect for a creative, organized, and self‑motivated technician who thrives on building, testing, and improving electronic systems.

This position is based in Murphy, NC. Relocation package offered

What You’ll Do Testing & Troubleshooting

Perform Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and functional testing using oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, and advanced electronic test equipment.

Troubleshoot circuit‑level and system‑level issues; diagnose problems using soldering tools and engineering best practices.

Read, interpret, and analyze electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and prototype systems.

Test Development & Automation

Design and execute development tests for power electronics and embedded firmware.

Develop, implement, and maintain automated test systems using

LabVIEW ,

Python

or

MATLAB .

Create and maintain custom test fixtures and jigs to support engineering development.

Equipment Ownership

Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory test equipment to ensure accurate test results.

Identify and resolve issues related to test systems, equipment, and tooling.

Documentation & Reporting

Prepare detailed test reports, technical documentation, and data summaries for engineering teams and customers.

Contribute to engineering presentations, internal project updates, and customer‑facing technical documents as needed.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and support teams to ensure successful product development and testing.

Support engineering reviews, prototype builds, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Assist with additional lab needs and engineering tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in

Electrical Engineering Technology

or a similar technical field.

3+ years

of experience in test engineering, electronics troubleshooting, or power electronics testing.

Proficiency in

LabVIEW ,

Python , or

MATLAB

for automated testing.

Hands‑on experience with oscilloscopes, electronic loads, multimeters, and power test equipment.

Strong understanding of engineering schematics, electronic components, and circuit‑level troubleshooting.

Familiarity with standards such as

UL

and

IEC

for power electronics testing.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with military, aerospace, or telecom standards:

MIL-STD-704 ,

MIL-STD-1399 ,

MIL-STD-461 ,

MIL-STD-810

Familiarity with PCB design tools such as

PCAD

or

Altium

Advanced experience with

LabVIEW

Hands‑on training or experience in power electronics circuits

Field experience testing or debugging end‑to‑end embedded power electronics systems
