Diesel Technician Permanent Full‑Time Senior Level position to support our truck fleet at Ryder Supply Chain Solutions in West Sacramento, California.

Position Description We are seeking a skilled diesel technician to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring high performance and safety for our heavy‑duty vehicle fleet. This role is a full‑time, permanent position.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Pay: $35.11 per hour

609 Certification REQUIRED

Certification Bonus up to $700

Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 per quarter (four times per year)

Schedule: Sunday – Thursday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Vocational or technical post‑secondary degree or technical certifications (preferred)

Basic tools required

Demonstrated aptitude and experience in automotive gas or diesel engine repair, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake, tire work)

2+ years of classroom training and work experience (preferred)

Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)

Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire

Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background & motor vehicle check covering the past 3 years

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties

Perform standard vehicle maintenance, component inspections, and repairs

Perform preventive maintenance

Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers

Identify root causes of failures and perform necessary repairs

Replace defective components as instructed

Perform facility maintenance duties

Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints

Utilize key functions of shop management system and electronic documentation

Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)

Perform additional support duties as required, including service island support
