Position Overview At AutoNation, getting customers back on the road is what drives us. We’re looking for an Auto Technician or Auto Mechanic to join our team, and we’re interested in talking to candidates at an experienced level. As an Auto Technician, you’ll perform vehicle repairs as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards. Your attention to detail makes you a valuable asset to the team as you ensure repairs are completed on time, and deliver top-notch work to delight our customers. In this role, you’ll interact daily with Customers, Service Advisors, other Technicians, Parts Associates, Cashiers, Sales Associates, and Managers.

What We’re Looking For

Valid driver’s license

A passion for cars and customer service

Responsibilities

Stay current in diagnostic methods and service techniques for dealership vehicles.

Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy.

Follow factory and dealership repair procedures for warranty work.

Participate in service technician training programs.

Become familiar with bulletins, service manuals and other publications.

Attend manufacturer sponsored service trainings.

Record cause of failure and description of work done accurately on all repair orders.

Communicate regularly with service managers, team leaders and consultants to confirm repair order information and diagnostics.

Request parts from the parts department as necessary.

Follow company safety procedures to avoid exposure to fumes, dirt and chemicals.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent

Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.

General mechanical skills.

Must have a valid driver's license.

Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.

Manual dexterity, good judgment and ability to operate power and hand tools safely.

Demonstrated customer service skills.

Knowledge of all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance.

Graduate of mechanical vocational trade school or equivalent experience.

Ability to operate an automobile.

Must have technical aptitude displayed by ASE certification or pre-employment test completion. Technical or trade school degree preferred.
