Traveling Construction Project Manager – Roadway

Base pay range: $150,000 – $180,000 per year.
Responsibilities
Manage field operations and contract administration, including safety, personnel, subcontract scheduling, and material/procurement.
Develop and execute safety planning to ensure all operations meet company and regulatory standards.
Identify and manage potential change orders, scope changes, and field condition changes.
Create and monitor project budgets, including cost accounting and schedule impacts.
Maintain accurate logs of change orders, communication, and cost projections.
Report weekly quantities completed and budget changes in Viewpoint.
Manage subcontractor and vendor relationships, mitigating risk and preventing cost overruns.
Coordinate equipment, personnel skill sets, and means & methods to support schedule.
Adjust contract values for weather, changes, and authorized change orders.
Location & Travel Details This position covers worksites throughout Central IL, requiring approximately 50% travel (about 2 weeks or 10 days per month). A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided, along with meals and lodging for overnight travel.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
10+ years of project management experience in heavy civil and bridge construction.
Excellent communication skills with a collaborative problem‑solving approach.
OSHA 30‑hour certification.
