MS/HS Special Education Teacher for 2026-27
Location: MACCRAY Secondary (Grades 6-12)
SCHEDULE
Full time; 8.5 hour/day - approximately 159 days per year
Follows MACCRAY Calendar - We are a 4 Day Week School
REPORTS TO Secondary Principal
SUPERVISION None
SALARY Pending experience - $45,000 starting
QUALIFICATIONS Required
Current MN teaching license or ability to obtain one.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES Instructional Planning and Preparation
Provide weekly special education service for students
Collaborate with other special education providers such as occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech/language pathologists
Coach families on best practice strategies
Demonstrate knowledge of content and pedagogy
Demonstrate knowledge of students
Select instructional goals
Demonstrate knowledge of resources
Design and deliver coherent instruction
Assess student learning
Create an environment of respect and rapport
Establish a culture for learning
Manage classroom procedures
Manage student behavior
Organize physical space
Instructional Interaction
Communicate clearly and accurately
Use questioning and discussion techniques
Engage students in learning
Provide feedback to students
Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness
Professional Responsibilities
Reflect on teaching
Maintain accurate records
Communicate with families
Contribute to the school and district
Grow and develop professionally
Show professionalism
