Summary The Staff Accountant performs essential accounting and financial processes that support accurate reporting, operational efficiency, and organizational success across all Utah Soccer entities. This role requires strong accounting experience, high collaboration, and the ability to execute recurring financial processes in a fast-paced professional sports and entertainment environment.

Responsibilities Include

Maintain and execute General Ledger processes, ensuring accuracy across Utah Soccer entities

Perform daily ticket sales reconciliation processes, including revenue and deferred revenue coding

Execute monthly revenue entry processes across all company revenue centers

Perform Accounts Receivable processes and generate reports for review

Perform Accounts Payable processes, partnering cross-functionally to ensure timely approvals

Support senior accounting staff by executing event settlement processes

Execute company credit card reconciliation processes on a recurring basis

Perform weekly bank reconciliation processes, aligning POS transactions to financial records

Execute budget alignment processes, ensuring revenue and expenses support financial plans

Prepare and execute income statement reporting processes for department financial meetings

Support budget-to-actual tracking and departmental financial planning processes

Contribute to a positive, professional, high-energy work environment

Additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

1- 3 years of experience performing accounting and financial processes

Strong proficiency in Excel, with the ability to perform financial processes using formulas, data organization, and reporting tools

Applied knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles

Experience executing AR, AP, GL, reconciliation, and settlement processes

Ability to work effectively across departments and stakeholders

Flexibility to support sporting, venue, and business schedules

Excellent verbal and written communication

Highly organized with strong process accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to execute multiple financial processes and meet deadlinesCross-department collaboration and problem-solving mindset

High professionalism and strong interpersonal approach

Preferred Qualifications

Working experience with Netsuite software

Physical Demands & Working Environment The position may require prolonged periods of sitting, typing, and computer work, as well as standing, bending, stooping, walking, lifting, and pushing. The role includes regularly lifting or pushing up to 5 pounds and occasionally 10+ pounds, while navigating changing conditions associated with stadiums, events, and venue-based operations. Evening, weekend, and matchday availability may also be required to support team and business needs.
