Construction Inspector – Electrical
Work Location: Canandaigua, NY
Base Pay Range: $110,000.00/yr – $125,000.00/yr
Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview
Requirement: Must be a US citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screen.
Duties / Responsibilities
Provide construction inspection services on multiple simultaneous federal projects ranging in value from tens of millions to hundreds of millions of dollars.
Experience with large Federal Building Design, Medical Building Design, or other similarly complex projects is desired. “Large” projects are defined as a construction value of at least $100 million.
Perform site observation and reporting on assigned projects to government personnel.
Provide technical and administrative support.
Significant experience with low voltage systems preferred.
Oversee construction, contract administration, and quality assurance activities per established policies, procedures, and regulations.
Analyze design and construction issues relative to contract requirements.
Deliver recommendations to government personnel regarding compliance with contract provisions.
Review and interpret plans, specifications, submittals, reports, schedules, modifications, cost estimates, pay applications, change orders, and claims.
Perform field surveillance and prepare daily detailed reports covering safety, cost and engineering considerations.
Participate in pre‑construction conferences with government personnel.
Have knowledge of Industrial/Laboratory building electrical systems (low voltage and high voltage), system controls, building automation, data centers and other complex electrical‑engineering elements in large buildings and utility plants.
Education / Experience
Extensive experience with electrical systems of all types preferred.
Significant experience with low‑voltage systems highly desirable.
Minimum of 10 years of construction inspection experience.
Army Corps of Engineering (USACE) or other federal project experience preferred.
Experience using RMS 3.0 preferred.
Engineering degree, RCDD, and/or registered P.E. in electrical systems is a plus.
