Maintenance Mechanic – Requirements & Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
5+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing (food industry preferred)
Hands‑on knowledge of carton machines, flow wraps, extruders, labelers, metal detectors, ovens, and conveyors
Proficiency in welding and metal fabrication (MIG/TIG) and using a multimeter
Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment manuals
Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team
Maintenance Mechanic – What You’ll Do
Diagnose, repair, and fabricate modifications for processing and packaging machinery, conveyor lines, and automated systems
Perform scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance on facility equipment
Break down assemblies into components and reassemble without blueprints
Lubricate machinery and complete PM documentation and work orders
Develop and implement efficiency, uptime, and safety improvements
Adhere to GMP/GSP standards and maintain clean, organized maintenance areas
