What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
Accept projects weekly with defined due dates based on your availability
Read disclosures quickly and understand technical nuances that may distinguish them from prior art
Perform comprehensive searches to locate the most relevant prior art and provide a complete search history
Prepare written opinions applying relevant prior art to disclosures
Maintain proficiency with commercial patent searching databases and uphold quality deliverables
What is Required (Qualifications):
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics, or a related field
Minimum of 1 year of experience working with patents or in the intellectual property field
At least 1 year of work experience in the industry or advanced research in a related field
Must pass a USPTO background check and obtain a Public Trust Clearance
U.S. citizen or work‑eligible legal resident who has resided in the U.S. for the last two years
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
Previous patent examining or patent searching experience
Highly skilled in developing search methodologies and conducting searches
Strong time management skills to complete projects against deadlines
Experience with patent searching tools like Orbit, PatBase, Google Scholar, or PatSeer
Master’s degree or Ph.D. is a plus
