We are a mining company and supplier in search of an enthusiastic numbers driven Plant Accountant to join our team.
We are seeking a skilled Cost Accountant who will be a part of the heart of our financial operations, ensuring accuracy and excellence in every detail.
Who We Are Nevada Cement Company is a mining company that supplies cement to the construction and mining industries. Currently, we manufacture over five hundred thousand tons of cement annually, including low alkali moderate sulfate resistant and high sulfate resistant cement. We are also members of the Nevada Mining Association and are committed to providing technical assistance for backfill and shot‑crete processes to mining companies. We value our customer base and are always seeking to expand our relationships within the mining industry.
What You Will Do
Balance sheet and bank account reconciliations.
Daily sales and production reports.
Month‑end close – Assist in financial statement prep, stat and expense reporting, variance analysis.
Procure to Pay.
Assist purchasing, ops, warehouse and AP.
Inventory management (spare parts $12‑13 MM, WIP, FG’s, purchased cement). May need to go to top of silos.
80+ rail car fleet management – movements and payments.
Fixed Asset Management and Depreciation.
Sales, property, gross proceeds of mines, commerce tax prep and tracking.
Prepare and post JEs for all above.
Key backup to AP, AR, Payroll.
Assist as needed in developing and implementing processes for new Stockton acquisition.
File monthly, quarterly, annual census reports to various govt. agencies.
What You Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
3 years of experience in accounting with emphasis in general ledger reconciliation, filing taxes, budget preparation and bank reconciliation in a manufacturing environment.
Be a team player, detail oriented, enthusiastic, dedicated, impactful, and self‑starter.
Analytical and critical thinking skills are important for this role.
Certified Public Accountant.
