Position Purpose The successful candidate will be part of a skilled trades team responsible for campus-wide maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
Interpret building schematics for electrical and mechanical systems.
Repair equipment professionally.
Work independently without supervision.
Perform physical tasks including standing, reaching, walking, bending, pulling, pushing, ladder work, and lifting up to 60 lbs to carry tools, equipment, and perform electrical procedures.
Use knowledge of plumbing and mechanical installations that may impact electrical installations and repairs.
Minimum Qualifications
High school graduation or equivalent education and experience.
Electrical journeyman’s card or Master Electrician License from the State of Michigan.
Proof of six years of continuing job‑related experience with commercial, industrial, and residential electrical systems.
Working knowledge of other skilled trades (plumbing, mechanical).
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record for university insurance.
Successful verification through reference checks.
Desired Qualifications
State of Michigan Master Electrician License.
