Overview
Stella Niagara Education Park is seeking a Fundraising Event Coordinator to plan and administer two special events each year, oversee the Annual Fund (fundraising appeal) and maintain the institution’s donor database. Responsibilities include working with volunteers and overseeing all aspects of events as well as achieving fundraising goals. This part‑time position will work in collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Admissions to manage the school’s external relations function.
About Stella Niagara Education Park Since its founding in 1908, Stella Niagara Education Park has provided an exceptional educational experience that embodies the Franciscan heritage in an academic atmosphere that nurtures students physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Classes ranging from Montessori Pre‑K through eighth grade are provided on the 104‑acre campus adjacent to the Niagara River in Lewiston. Stella Niagara offers small class sizes (12:1 student‑teacher ratio), an outstanding core curriculum, a full complement of special subjects (art, music, physical education, technology, and more), foreign language beginning in Third Grade, and the innovative, integrated Outdoor Education curriculum.
Position duties and responsibilities The Fundraising Events Coordinator will provide leadership for the successful operation of two special events (Walk for Peace; Key Event) as well as administering an Annual Fund solicitation. The position is part‑time estimated at 30 hours per week. Specific duties include:
Planning, organizing and executing fundraising events including effective communication with the event venue
Chairing a committee of volunteers to assist with event details and outreach efforts
Coordination of committee meetings, maintaining event timelines and tracking expenses
Managing the efforts of volunteers to secure auction donations as well as coordinating the delivery and tracking of auction details
Managing event information including sponsor logos, journal ads and guest names
Placing follow‑up calls to and tracking outreach efforts to parents, alumni and event supporters
Recording donations, sponsors and other fundraising details
Developing an Annual Fund solicitation and managing the timely outreach to prospective donors
Connecting with potential donors and stewarding current donors
Maintaining the donor database to ensure accurate and updated information.
Requirements The ideal candidate will have 1‑3 years event experience (fundraising events preferred) and technical strengths (comfort managing/learning technology).
Qualifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent planning and time management capabilities
Organizational skills including attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work well with volunteers
Expertise with technology, including donor management systems
Comfort working with a large group of volunteers, and working independently
Enthusiastic, high‑energy and initiative‑taking personality
Effective interpersonal and presentation skills
Creative thinking about how to keep events fresh and interesting
Networking skills and desire to introduce the school to new constituencies
Ability to handle high‑stress situations calmly and professionally
