Youth Theatre Northwest (YTN) on Mercer Island is looking to hire a Hungarian speaker to coach three actors and the Director on Hungarian language pronunciation and dialect for the characters of Katalin Hunyak and Mama Morton in Chicago: Teen Edition. Rehearsals began January 6 and go through March 5, with performances March 6-22. (Full production schedule below.) SCOPE OF WORK: There is one monologue and two additional sentences in Hungarian, and two lines in English intended to be spoken with a Hungarian dialect. We are looking to hire someone to come in for one or two coaching sessions during January or early February and visit two or three times during run throughs or tech in late February or early March to listen and given pronunciation notes. These dates can be flexible based on applicant's schedule, within the production schedule. Regular Rehearsals: Jan. 6 – Feb. 12, Mon. – Thurs. 6:15 – 9:00 pm and Sat. 1:00 – 5:00 pm (No 1/19) Tech Rehearsals: Feb. 23 – March 5, Mon. – Thurs. 6:15 – 9:30 pm and Sat. 1:00 – 5:00 pm Performances: March 6 – 22, Thursdays/Fridays/Saturdays at 7:00 pm (Added 2:00 pm show on Saturday March 21), and Sundays at 2:00 pm Submission Instructions
Please send a resume, and cover letter if desired, as three references (one of which at least is a professional reference). Fluent in Hungarian. Experience working with teens preferred. Ability to clear a criminal background check for violent crimes or crimes against children.
