Driver, Hourly CDL-A (Performance Food Group)
Base pay range:
$31.00/hr – $31.00/hr
Schedule:
Monday‑Friday, average departure between 3 am and 5 am, 10‑hour shifts. Up to one overnight a week, depending on business needs. Per diem and safe hotels provided for overnight.
Sign on Bonus:
Up to $10,000 paid over 12 months.
Responsibilities
Drive a tractor‑trailer or straight truck intrastate and/or interstate on local, OTR, shuttle, or overnight routes to deliver food products to customers.
Perform safety checks (pre/post trip), inspections of tractor/truck and trailer, ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
Inspect trailers for proper loading, secure freight, perform count checks, verify invoices, and complete required paperwork.
Deliver and unload customer orders, perform damage control checks, scan items, obtain signatures, collect payment, and return unloaded items to the trailer.
Ensure tractors, trailers, and freight are locked and secured at all times.
Unload damaged goods and returns, complete necessary paperwork, and maintain trailer cleanliness.
Record daily hours of service, enter logs per Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean.
Complete all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
6–12 months commercial driving experience (customized and specialty), or 1 year or more commercial driving experience (PFS).
Valid CDL A and must meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Clean Motor Vehicle Report for the past 3 years.
Pass pre‑employment drug test and road test.
Valid current DOT health card or ability to obtain one.
Able to hand‑lift and use two‑wheelers, lift gates, and other equipment to move and stack product cases ranging from 60 to 90 pounds.
