About Our Client: Addison Group is partnering with one of our clients to add a Staff Accountant to their in-office accounting team in Charlotte. This role supports daily financial operations and contributes to accurate reporting within a stable, collaborative work environment focused on long-term growth.
Job Description: The Staff Accountant will assist with a variety of accounting functions, including account reconciliations, journal entry preparation, and close support. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and providing dependable financial data to internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-focused, and comfortable working in a hands-on office setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with month-end close activities to support accurate and timely reporting
Prepare and record journal entries, including routine and adjusting entries
Complete bank and account reconciliations and research discrepancies
Maintain balance sheet schedules and supporting documentation
Track prepaid expenses and fixed assets in alignment with accounting standards
Monitor cash activity and support internal financial reporting requests
Assist with tax-related processes, including sales and use tax filings, 1099 preparation, and audit support
Compile schedules and documentation for corporate tax reporting
Partner with the accounting team on special projects and process enhancements
Provide general accounting support as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or comparable professional experience
2–5 years of accounting experience preferred
Working knowledge of GAAP and general accounting practices
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
Experience with ERP or accounting software preferred
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Clear and professional communication skills
