Ascension Global Staffing & Executive Search is seeking an experienced
Litigation Legal Assistant
to provide high-level administrative and legal support for a respected law firm in
Fort Lauderdale . This role requires exceptional organizational skills, strong knowledge of legal procedures, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service with integrity and professionalism.
The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of law firm operations, practice-specific procedures, court filing requirements, and client service standards within a mid to large-size legal environment. This position requires the ability to prioritize multiple projects, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively with attorneys, clients, and staff.
Essential Functions:
Collaborate with multiple firm-wide departments to manage case openings, conflict checks, billing, training, records, and other administrative responsibilities.
Demonstrate proficient knowledge of Federal and State court rules and filing procedures, including e-filing pleadings according to specific court requirements.
Draft and proofread correspondence, pleadings, and legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
Track firm, attorney, and client expenses; process reimbursements and payments using applicable software.
Support client billing, including entering narratives, tracking billable tasks, editing invoices, calendaring billing deadlines, and delivering invoices in electronic and paper formats.
Schedule State court hearings and understand court requirements for calculating deadlines to ensure attorney compliance.
Coordinate client appointments and manage attorney calendars.
Assist with planning and coordinating attorney business development events and special firm activities.
Maintain and organize electronic and paper case files.
Handle incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and phone calls; screen, direct, and place communications as needed.
Consistently deliver exceptional client service and maintain professionalism in all interactions.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support workflow, cover workload peaks, or assist across other functional areas.
Education and Experience:
3 + years of law firm experience , preferably as a
litigation legal assistant , with strong Federal and State court experience.
Experience supporting multiple attorneys simultaneously is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to prioritize multiple assignments and follow through effectively.
High attention to detail, initiative, and a proactive approach.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and familiarity with law firm billing and case management software.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Physical Demands:
Ability to type, use a keyboard, and write by hand regularly.
Must be able to talk, hear, and maintain vision necessary for close and distance viewing, color recognition, and focus adjustment.
Onsite attendance is required.
This is not a remote or hybrid position.
