Pay Rate $24 per hour (w2)

Work Type Fully on-site, 8 hours/day, 5 days/week. Must work shifts (5am–1pm, 1pm–9pm, 9pm–5am) including weekends and holidays.

Job Summary Master Control Operator supports on‑air broadcast operations during a major systems migration. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and continuity of programming across multiple channel streams in a 24/7 broadcast environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support on‑air operations during a large‑scale systems migration, including programming quality control, commercial rehearsals, event preparation, monitoring live and taped programming, and providing break coverage for other operators.

Maintain and adjust on‑air playlists; execute program, commercial, and marketing changes; and support live‑event and contingency workflows using broadcast automation systems.

Ensure accurate commercial integration and flawless execution of commercial breaks during both live and recorded programming.

Collaborate with team members to monitor and maintain a large number of channel streams, ensuring continuous availability and identifying inconsistencies.

Verify that all programming materials are prepared and ready for on‑air playout.

Serve as the final checkpoint for on‑air quality, responding quickly and effectively to discrepancies or technical issues.

Monitor audio, video, captioning, and overall picture quality to simulate the viewer experience.

Work closely with operations supervisors and production partners to resolve on‑air issues efficiently.

Communicate clearly and promptly with partner teams to implement automation playlist changes.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support the success of the Network Operations Center and comply with company policies.

Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma and relevant certification or Associate’s Degree in Media, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in broadcast, digital, or post‑production environments.

General understanding of television production, broadcast operations, and/or technical requirements for news, sports, or entertainment programming.

Additional Job Requirements

Ability to work fully onsite (no remote or hybrid option).

Availability to work any shift, including overnights, weekends, and holidays, in a 24/7/365 operation; schedules may change based on business needs.

Willingness to view mature, repetitive, or potentially controversial content as part of job responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in master control or a production control room (preferred but not required).

Ability to remain calm and make quick, sound decisions in high‑pressure situations.

Strong adaptability to new workflows, systems, and software tools.

Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify, anticipate, and report potential issues.

Proven ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.

Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills with a positive and professional attitude.

Reliable, punctual, disciplined, and dependable work ethic.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Spanish language proficiency is a plus.

This is a temporary position with an initial six‑month term.

There may be an opportunity to transition into a full‑time Master Control Operator role based on performance and business needs.
