Cook – Aurora Behavioral Health Care
As a Cook for Aurora Behavioral Health Care you will participate in the provision of quality meals and nutritional services to patients, staff, and guests.
Pay Range
Base pay: $43,680.00 - $52,000.00 per year
Hourly pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
Work Schedule Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Work Site Location 11878 Avenue of Industry, San Diego, CA 92128
Responsibilities
Prepares meals for patients, employees, medical staff, and visitors
Preps ingredients for meals and catering events
Cleans work area as necessary or assigned
Accepts and reconciles deliveries and puts away stock
Participates in activities which enhance professional growth and development
Complies with facility safety, infection control, and security program
Skills
Ability to concentrate on work amid distractions such as noise, conversations, and foot traffic
Consistently meet deadlines and finish all food preparation at specified serving time
Flexibility in work hours to meet patient and organization operating needs
Maintain self‑control in volatile or hostile customer service interactions
Adjust recipes to achieve desired results
Read and comprehend recipes or instructions on prepackaged products
Convert and adjust mathematical measurements for recipe adjustments
Use kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, mixers, and dishwashers
Understand essential hygiene factors involved in food preparation
Know cleansing products and appropriate methods for cleaning various surfaces
Work independently in a restricted physical environment for extended periods of time
Perform several tasks concurrently and maintain highly confidential information
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred: 2 years of work experience in dietary services in a hospital setting
