Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This full-semester special education teaching opportunity is designed for a licensed educator passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs in an elementary school setting. The position, based onsite in Renton, WA, offers a balanced schedule that includes direct classroom instruction and dedicated time for essential planning and collaboration.
Responsibilities
Delivering tailored instruction and interventions for a caseload of approximately 22.5 hours per week
Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with state guidelines
Collaborating with colleagues, families, and support staff to promote student success
Participating in weekly planning, IEP meetings, and professional trainings during allocated non-student days
Maintaining accurate records and monitoring student progress
Qualifications
Current Washington State teaching license in special education
Preferred experience with preschool-aged students; candidates with K‑2 elementary experience will also be considered
Strong understanding of special education laws, instructional strategies, and behavioral supports
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Position Details
Location: Renton, WA
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM
Days without students on Wednesdays for planning and meetings
Contract duration: ASAP through June 17, 2026
