Assists in registration and drop/add, approves AP credit, and approves transfer credit to satisfy curriculum requirements.**Responsibilities:*** Provide information to students to make informed decisions to achieve academic success.* Advise students on academic policies, procedures, and graduation requirements at the University.* Assist students with course selections and information about the services and resources available on campus.* Advise students on elective courses, completion of major, concentration and sub-plan requirements.* Advise students on academic career and personal issues, making appropriate referrals to the Career Development Center and Counseling Services.* Ensure transfer credit is appropriately evaluated and approved in the department.* Meet with students to review their degree in progress status and plan for final semesters.* Encourage students to seek out-of-classroom opportunities in research and internships reflective of the major, to build their resume.* Advise students of graduation application deadlines.* Direct students to the appropriate faculty within the department for information on post-baccalaureate and graduate programs.**Minimum Qualifications:*** Minimum of two (2) years of prior employment in higher education, teaching K-12 or in a position requiring strong customer service.
