Job Description:

Responsible for coordinating the day‑to‑day operations of research studies in the department. The position coordinates data maintenance, grant expenditure adherence, project evaluation, meeting scheduling, and research subject interfacing. Serves as a point of contact for study participants, research personnel and support staff. Adheres to good clinical practices, study protocols, and applicable regulations. The Research Project Coordinator conducts complex work and contributes to measurable team objectives. Uses discretion to provide solutions to issues. Performs work that is varied and that does not follow prescribed procedures or processes and is responsible for effective operations and use of resources, rather than clinical outcomes.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and conduct research studies and experiments.

Collect, analyze, and interpret data using statistical techniques.

Prepare and present research findings in written and oral formats.

Collaborate with senior researchers and project teams to develop research proposals.

Maintain accurate and detailed records of research activities and results.

Review and synthesize relevant literature to support research projects.

Assist in the preparation of grant applications and funding proposals.

Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis.

Develop and implement data collection methods and tools.

Ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirement

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Familiarity with grant writing and funding application processes.

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Experience with research in a specific field relevant to the organization's focus.

Proficiency in research design and methodology.

Prior experience working in an academic setting.

Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Detail‑oriented with strong organizational abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, SAS).

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Familiarity with data management and visualization tools.

Knowledge of ethical standards in research and data integrity.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a minimum of a Masters or equivalent degree in a relevant discipline, or Bachelors plus at least 2 years of post‑Bachelor’s work experience in a role that is similar to that of a Research Assistant.

Conditions of Employment:

Typical office and professional job conditions. Walking between buildings may be necessary given the normal physical layout of the University campus.
