Registered Nurse (RN) - Pre-Admission Testing (PAT)
Bloomington Eye Institute is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) Nurse. This primarily desk-based role plays a critical part in preparing patients for ophthalmic surgery by ensuring all medical, clinical, and administrative requirements are complete prior to the patient’s surgical date. The PAT Nurse works closely with the Clinical Manager, anesthesia team, scheduler, Surgeons and clinical staff to ensure smooth surgical flow.

Safety, Quality, & Compliance
Supportive Duties Include:
Assist the Clinical Manager with clinical assignments or scheduling if needed.
Occasionally covering the Surgical Scheduler role
Help clinical or surgical assistants with calls, chart prep, or scanning when time permits.
Maintain a clean, organized, and secure PAT workspace
Qualifications:
Active RN license in Illinois (required)
Prior experience in ambulatory surgery, pre-admission testing, pre-op/PACU, or surgical coordination preferred
Strong assessment skills and ability to recognize abnormal medical findings
Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
Proficiency with EHR systems and comfort with administrative, detail-focused work
BLS required; ACLS/PALS preferred (or willingness to obtain)
