Overview: The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors

intercollegiate sports—14 women’s and 10 men’s—competing at the Division I level. The Scarlet Knights are members of the Big Ten Conference, the nation’s premier academic and athletic conference, since joining the league on July 1, 2014. Rutgers, known as "The Birthplace of College Football," hosted Princeton on November 6, 1869 in the first intercollegiate football game, winning 6‑4.

Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Assistant Coach – Women's Volleyball for Athletics Events – Operations.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

Assists in the coordination of a Women’s Volleyball intercollegiate athletic program, providing student‑athletes with the opportunity to train and compete at a Division I level while earning a college degree.

Assists with recruiting potential student athletes.

Assists in developing, teaching and instructing the student‑athletes in competition, conditioning, and skills and techniques on the court.

Assists in the scouting of opponents through video and statistical analysis and is willing to learn coding software for practice and game analysis.

Works with graphics, marketing and video departments to create promotional correspondence and materials for distribution to recruits via traditional media and social media.

Assists the Director of Operations as needed regarding team operation and travel needs.

Assists in fundraising and public‑relations events that support the objectives of the program and allow for program enhancement.

Builds effective partnerships with co‑workers throughout the University by freely sharing appropriate information and providing assistance when needed.

Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree.

Certifications / Licenses

A valid driver’s license is required for this position.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong working knowledge and understanding of all NCAA rules and regulations.

High level interpersonal and communication skills to relate with current and prospective student athletes, athletic department personnel, and media.

Computer literacy.

Demonstrated regular and predictable attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree.

Collegiate playing experience (Division 1, 2, 3 or NAIA).

Previous recruiting experience.

Experience with DataVolley.

High level knowledge of all social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, SnapChat, and YouTube).

Special Conditions

Nights and weekends will be required.
