We havea new exciting role of an ARRS funded New to Practice Nurse Role who will beresponsible for the delivery of practice nursing services, working as part ofthe practice multidisciplinary team, delivering care within their scope ofpractice to the entitled patient population. An interest in respiratorydiseases is desirable.
This role will be based on Band 5 pay scale . We are lookingfor someone to work 24 hours per week including and Monday and Friday (nonenegotiable), other days to be agreed.
Main duties of the job
Provide routine nursing care to patients as required in accordance withclinical based evidence
Provide basic wound care (ulcer /Doppler etc.) to patients
Provide immunisations (child and adult)
Request pathology services as necessary and Process results as required
Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure read codes and templatesare used effectively
Support the team in dealing with clinical emergencies
Recognise, assess and refer patients presenting with mental health needs
Implement vaccination programmes for adults and children
Liaise with external bodies to ensure patients are supportedappropriately (vulnerable patients etc.)
Support the clinical team with all safeguardingmatters, in accordance with local and national policies
Understand practice and local policies for substance abuse and addictivebehaviour, referring patients appropriately

Person Specification Qualifications
Registered Nurse (Nursing and Midwifery Council)
Has evidence of working at the relevant level of practice as described in the Primary Care and General Practice
Nursing Career and Core Capabilities Framework
Experience of Practice Nurse skills including wound care, ECG, venepuncture. Training will be provided in adult and child immunisations and cytology.
Understanding of the importance of evidence-based practice
Ability to promote best practice regarding nursing matters
Ability to work within own scope of practice and understand when to refer to GPs
Good clinical system IT knowledge and an ability to record accurate clinical notes
Broad knowledge of clinical governance
Knowledge of public health issues in the local area
Awareness of issues within the wider health arena and knowledge of health promotion strategies
Ability to communicate complex and sensitive information effectively with people by telephone, email and face to face
Understanding of safeguarding adults and children
Understanding and knowledge of healthcare provision in GP surgeries, QOF and enhanced service
Knowledge of national standards that inform general practice (NSF NICE guidelines)
Effectively able to communicate and understand the needs of the patient
Interested in Respiratory diseases and wanting to progress knowledge in this area.
