Job Description - Warehouse Lead The Warehouse Lead provides direction for Material Handlers and balances workflow for the distribution center.
Core Responsibilities
Assist shift supervisors in pre-shift meetings and paperwork necessary during the shift
Plan and execute timely inbound and outbound deliveries, prioritizing resources
Responsible for escalating any issues that arise during the shift, if necessary
Ensure that employees are working safely, following all work rules, and that all required PPE are always being worn
Act as backup Wave Planner when necessary; these duties include (but are not limited to) allocating orders, releasing work to the warehouse floor, and ensuring truck turn times are within acceptable levels
Ensure that proper people are in the appropriate areas on the correct equipment to evenly complete work in queue
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or general equivalency degree required.
One year of related experience is required. Previous lead or supervisory experience is highly desired.
Experience in a role managing multiple priorities is highly desirable
Experience with warehouse management systems is required. Candidates must have strong computer skills
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Regularly standing, walking, riding, carrying, twisting, bending, balancing, seeing, hearing, and handling paperwork.
Regularly lift objects weighing up to 60 lbs.
