Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Accountant
consultant who will play a key role in month‑end close, year‑end support, account reconciliations, and general accounting duties during a period of organizational realignment. The ideal candidate brings large‑company accounting experience, strong communication skills, and comfort working within a manufacturing environment (aerospace/defense preferred).
Key Responsibilities
Support month‑end and year‑end close activities across multiple business units.
Prepare and review account reconciliations (balance sheet and selected P&L accounts).
Work cross‑functionally with operations teams, including shipping and receiving, on cycle counts and inventory‑related issues.
Assist site Controllers and the Controller with ad‑hoc reporting, analysis, and cleanup projects as the shared services team transitions out.
Ensure accounting processes align with US GAAP and company policy.
Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve accounting workflows during the block integration.
Provide reliable, senior‑level support requiring minimal supervision.
Must‑Have Qualifications
5‑8+ years of progressive accounting experience; prior Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager experience in a mid‑size or large corporate environment strongly preferred.
Strong independent working ability—minimal hand‑holding, able to "hit the ground running."
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate professionally across functions.
Solid understanding of US GAAP and strong reconciliation skills.
Ability to handle a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities.
Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications
CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
Experience with Epicor ERP.
Multi‑entity or multi‑site accounting experience.
Prior experience supporting companies undergoing integration, restructuring, or shared‑services transitions.
