Job Summary The Sales/Housing Consultant will assist home seekers with finding the perfect home, keeping the customers’ needs and budget at the forefront while providing a pressure‑free experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
Personally interact with customers and effectively explain the home buying process.
Consult with customers to understand their needs and preferences in relation to the type of new home they are seeking.
Provide guided tours of the displays.
Answer customer questions about the homes, options, financing, and other inquiries.
Assist customers with purchasing decisions, keeping their needs and budget in mind.
Create an exceptional home buying experience, including selecting suitable options for the customer.
Assist customers with completing their finance application and matching them with a vendor.
Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and mitigate complaints, keeping detailed documentation of each interaction.
Manage a large amount of customer data, keeping it secure.
Provide an exceptional level of customer service with clear and consistent communication.
Build a continual pipeline of prospects, including identifying potential customers and developing a database of prospects, communicating with leads, and seeking referrals from previous customers.
Attend and network at events to build relationships in the community and attract potential customers.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Excellent active listening skills.
Excellent sales and customer service skills.
Extensive knowledge of the homes and options available for sale.
Ability to anticipate customer needs and visualize projects.
Ability to make recommendations to meet customers’ needs.
Ability to operate or quickly learn Rent Manager or other programs.
Ability to quickly recall pertinent information.
Good computer and data entry skills.
Good general construction knowledge or ability to learn it quickly.
Ability to work an open schedule to include weekends.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
1 year of sales experience preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
Finance experience, a plus.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the lot and home displays.
Period of sitting for data entry.
Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions while walking the lot with customers.
Other Requirements
Clear background check and drug screening required.
Saturdays are required (closed on Sundays).
Supervision The Housing Consultant is supervised by the Housing Consultant Manager and may be assigned work by other senior staff members.
