Job Summary
Tessera is seeking a hardworking and motivated Custodial Supervisor with a positive attitude.
Typical Duties
Ensure employees follow all company policies, procedures, and contract requirements.
Provide daily operational guidance and allocate resources to support mission needs.
Ensure employees complete required training, certifications, medical clearances, and ongoing job training.
Enforce safety procedures and promote an accident‑free work environment.
Develop and adjust work schedules and routes to meet contract needs and support reasonable accommodations.
Monitor, document, and address employee attendance, conduct, and performance.
Resolve personnel issues and administer progressive discipline in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
Complete required reports and documentation, including schedules, payroll, timekeeping, evaluations, incident reports, and quality control records.
Ensure all areas are clean, safe, sanitary, and fully functional.
Conduct quality control inspections and ensure corrective actions are completed in a timely manner.
Maintain service quality in compliance with contract standards.
Support employee relations through mentoring, coaching, performance evaluations, and recognition efforts.
Mentor employees with disabilities and coordinate reasonable accommodations with Vocational and Human Resources staff.
Manage inventories, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and the issuance and security of keys, vehicles, and equipment.
Ensure incidents and accidents are reported promptly and buildings are secured at shift end.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED required.
0–3 years of previous custodian or janitorial experience preferred.
Previous leadership skills preferred.
Combination of experience and education will be considered.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time.
Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, walking, standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs.
Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements
A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
