The IT Operations Tech Lead addresses and resolves complex issues, strives to reduce call volume through automation and day to day systems administration.
You will work within Microsoft Active Directory & Microsoft Azure to manage desktops, operating systems, applications, files and print services. Works with IT staff, other department staff, and vendors to implement, update, configure, operate and support assigned systems.
Responsibilities
Serve as an expert to service desk teams, providing guidance and support on more complex problems.
Records and tracks interactions with end-users and related activities in ITSM tool.
Collaborates with service desk teams to identify areas where processes can be streamlined with automation.
Maintains supported versions of business-critical desktop applications (ShareFile, Windows 10, Clickshare, Ivanti, Adobe etc.).
Recommends, plans, and implements new workplace endpoint technologies.
Researches and evaluates products to determine if they meet current or future application needs.
Provides an advanced level of troubleshooting support in response to complex problems, questions and inquiries that have been escalated.
20% of the time you will author scope of work for small to medium sized projects.
Create project plans, testing, implementation, and evaluation of systems
20% of System Administrator duties including Quality Assurance testing for software module upgrades / changes.
Analyzes results to ensure that software performs as required.
Assist IT Security / Engineering teams in setting up and maintaining end user devices & security applications.
Assists with managing Azure. Administers MS Active Directory.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities and no direct reports.
Education / Experience
A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Information Technology service & support role.
Leadership experience in solution development.
Required
Ability to communicate within a team, working with all project stakeholders such as business users, project managers, and business analysts while delivering solutions.
Working knowledge of incident ticketing system, specifically Cherwell
Familiar with Windows 10 operating system, as well as Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016, & 2019
Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal are critical
Knowledge and experience with PowerShell
Experience with Azure Dev Ops or similar development tools
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Office 365, Active Directory and Group Policy administration
Able to work collaboratively with others to accomplish collective goals, has the awareness to understand how their comments, body language impact those of the group
