PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The successful candidate will be responsible for scoping, preliminary designs and estimating of capital expansion projects (CAPEX). Estimates will be conceptual to detailed AFE quality.
Position will work directly with the Commercial, Engineering, and Operations groups to define capital project scopes of work, gather specific project details and design information and assemble into FEED estimate packages.
Candidates should have sound Engineering capabilities with basic understanding of project design and execution processes.
Prior estimating experience expected with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Win Estimator is the preferred estimating software, but experience with any computer based program will be considered.
Liquids Terminals/Facilities type experience is a plus.
This position will work a hybrid schedule including work from Office 3-days (Mon-Wed) and work remotely (home) Thursdays and Fridays. The Office is located downtown at 1001 Louisiana, Houston Texas 77002.
Typical deliverables are: Perform basic Engineering, layout sketch, process flow diagram (PFD), sketch isometric pipe drawings, equipment list, write up of the Basis of Design, obtain quotations for major components, high level schedule, summary of permitting requirements, definition of civil, electrical and instrumentation requirements.
Some projects will require in depth studies of operating parameters and equipment options.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to scope projects based on previous experience and develop conceptual designs and estimates for new projects.
Read and comprehend PFD's, P&ID's technical drawings and specifications.
Prepare material take-offs, create detailed estimates and preliminary sketches for proposed capital projects for review with internal customers and management.
Document the Design Basis for each project.
Estimates must be well thought out, organized, logical, clear and concise.
Confirm actual field conditions.
Oversight and management of 3rd party Engineering assistance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
