Position Summary A growing organization is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee the day‑to‑day maintenance, repair, and operational integrity of a primary facility located in the Jacksonville, Florida area. This role is hands‑on in nature and is responsible for ensuring all building systems, equipment, and grounds are safe, functional, and well‑maintained to support daily operations.

This position is designed with growth in mind. As the organization expands and additional facilities are developed, the Facilities Manager may assume broader responsibility, supporting multiple sites and helping scale facilities operations in alignment with organizational growth.

Essential Job Functions Repair & Maintenance Operations

Diagnose, repair, or coordinate repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, irrigation, and related building systems.

Respond to maintenance requests and manage work orders using a facilities management or ticketing system.

Source, purchase, and maintain inventory of parts, tools, and materials required for maintenance activities.

Perform hands‑on maintenance tasks as needed to support facility operations.

Routine & Preventive Maintenance

Conduct regular inspections of the facility and building systems to identify maintenance needs or potential issues.

Assist in developing and maintaining preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.

Track and document completed maintenance activities and follow‑up actions.

Safety, Security & Compliance

Support a safe and secure work environment by maintaining lighting, fire safety systems, access controls, and other safety‑related infrastructure.

Follow and enforce safety protocols during maintenance and repair activities.

Maintain accurate records related to maintenance work, inspections, and compliance requirements.

Construction & Project Support

Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and service providers to support repair, renovation, and construction‑related activities.

Assist with scheduling inspections, permits, and third‑party services.

Review vendor invoices for accuracy and alignment with approved scopes of work.

Support site access, due diligence activities, and project logistics as needed.

Perform tasks outside contractor scope when appropriate to support project timelines.

Assist in identifying cost‑effective solutions for maintenance and construction needs.

Obtain vendor bids and review scopes of work for accuracy and alignment with project goals.

Review and approve invoices in accordance with internal processes and financial controls.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; trade certifications or technical training a plus.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Prior experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or a skilled trade environment preferred.

General knowledge of construction practices, mechanical systems, or trade‑related work.

Ability to lift, carry, and move materials or equipment up to 50 pounds.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing operational needs.

Effective communication skills with internal stakeholders, vendors, and contractors.

This role is intentionally structured to evolve as the organization grows. As additional facilities are added, the Facilities Manager may:

Support multiple locations.

Help standardize preventive maintenance programs, vendor relationships, and safety practices across sites.

Provide input into facility planning, buildouts, and site readiness for new locations.

Progress into a senior or regional facilities leadership role as operational needs expand.
