Summary The Facilities Specialist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and operations of the company’s facilities and grounds. This role ensures the workplace remains safe, functional, and well-maintained by coordinating service requests, performing basic repairs, monitoring building systems, and supporting projects related to equipment, safety, and space improvements.

Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance and repairs to facility systems, equipment, and structures (e.g., lighting, HVAC filters, doors, plumbing, furniture, etc.).

Support preventive maintenance programs and schedule inspections to ensure operational reliability.

Assist with coordination and oversight of outside vendors and contractors performing maintenance or repairs.

Respond to facility service requests promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

Monitor and report building system performance issues to management.

Maintain facilities supplies inventory, including tools, cleaning materials, and spare parts.

Support moves, furniture setups, and space reconfigurations as needed.

Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and building regulations.

Assist with documentation and recordkeeping for inspections, maintenance, and vendor work orders.

Support ESG activities.

Assist in budget preparation for the following year.

Assist organization with event management.

Participate in facility improvement and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school certification preferred.

2–5 years of experience in facilities, maintenance, or building operations.

Basic understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical).

Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks safely.

Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, CMMS experience a plus).

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Familiar with OSHA 10 or other safety-related certifications.

Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Familiarity with energy efficiency or sustainability practices.
