Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Specialist
to join our finance team. This role is responsible for managing both incoming and outgoing payments, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the accounting department.
Key Responsibilities: Accounts Payable (AP):
Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents.
Verify transaction details and obtain proper approval before payment.
Schedule and prepare payments via checks, ACH, or wire transfers.
Maintain vendor files and resolve discrepancies or billing issues.
Reconcile AP accounts and prepare monthly reports.
Assist with 1099 processing and year-end reporting.
Accounts Receivable (AR):
Generate and send customer invoices based on sales orders and contracts.
Monitor customer accounts for non-payment, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
Apply incoming payments to customer accounts accurately.
Follow up with clients on outstanding invoices and resolve billing issues.
Maintain detailed records of communication and payment history.
Prepare aging reports and assist with cash forecasting.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in AP/AR or general accounting roles.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial procedures.
Proficiency with accounting software
Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
