Compensation:
$27.00 - $38.00 per hour, based on skills and experience level.
About the Role The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in keeping our Longhini Sausage production facility running safely and efficiently. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial equipment, support facility systems, and help drive continuous improvement in mechanical reliability. Your work directly enables us to deliver high-quality, authentic products every day.
What You'll Do Equipment Maintenance & Repair
Diagnose and repair mechanical equipment including motors, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and packaging machinery
Perform urgent breakdown repairs to minimize downtime
Conduct root-cause analysis and make recommendations to prevent future issues
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
Complete scheduled PMs using CMMS tools and document all work performed
Inspect machinery for wear, leaks, and risks; perform lubrication, adjustments, and part replacements
Facility & Utilities Support
Maintain facility systems including compressed air, piping, lighting, HVAC components
Assist with boilers, refrigeration, and water systems (as qualified)
Ensure safe operation of all building infrastructure
Safety, Compliance & Documentation
Follow OSHA, SQF, and food safety standards at all times
Maintain accurate work orders and service logs
Participate in lockout/tagout procedures, audits, and safety assessments
Continuous Improvement
Suggest mechanical and process improvements to boost equipment reliability
Support installation, startup, and optimization of new machinery
Collaborate with production teams to resolve recurring equipment issues
What We're Looking For Required
3-5 years of industrial maintenance or mechanical technician experience (food manufacturing preferred)
Expertise with conveyors, motors, bearings, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical power transmission
Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals
Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement devices
Experience using CMMS systems
Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities
Ability to work safely under time‑sensitive conditions
Preferred
Experience in SQF‑ or USDA‑regulated facilities
Basic electrical knowledge (schematics, sensors, multimeters)
Welding and fabrication skills (MIG/TIG)
Technical school, certification, or apprenticeship training
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Standing, walking, bending, and climbing for extended periods
Lifting up to 50 lbs routinely and 75 lbs occasionally
Working in cold rooms, warm processing areas, and wet environments
Exposure to mechanical equipment, vibrations, and sanitation chemicals
Use of PPE including steel‑toe footwear, eye protection, and hearing protection
