Job Summary Support the organization’s mission, vision, and values by maintaining a clean, safe, orderly, and attractive environment throughout all hospital departments, patient areas, and all support areas, including hospital‑controlled areas. Performs discharge cleaning as needed.
Schedule: Full Time 40 hours, evenings – 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, Monday‑Friday, weekend & holiday rotation.
Responsibilities
Perform the 8‑step cleaning procedures, daily cleaning, discharge cleaning, bed making, wall spots, toilet cleaning, high and low dusting, and O.R. terminal cleaning.
Complete work from previous shift if needed; report all incomplete assignments and maintenance issues.
Clean up all organic body waste, such as blood, body fluids, feces, sputum, etc., as instructed.
Hang cubical curtains, shower curtains, and window curtains.
Disinfect and sanitize I.V. poles, pumps, and other patient equipment during discharge cleaning.
Perform all environmental services‑related tasks and follow department guidelines.
Perform basic and heavier cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and prescribed methods.
Clean patient equipment as requested, including beds and all room furnishings.
Assist in manpower support for office and related moves, special conference room set‑ups, and any other occasions as required.
Perform cleaning of emergency spills when observed or upon request.
Qualifications
High school education or equivalent.
Ability to understand and converse in English at a level that allows safe, efficient performance of the job.
Ability to lift 25–50 pounds.
Physical demands: stand for long periods, bend, stoop, and lift.
Competent in using proper chemicals for proper tasks.
Ability to learn and demonstrate new procedures related to the healthcare industry.
