Position Overview The Sous Chef is a hands‑on leader who supports the Executive Chef in overseeing all kitchen operations, maintaining high culinary standards, and ensuring outstanding guest dining experience. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, strong leadership, and a passion for hospitality to our vibrant resort environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the daily supervision and coordination of all kitchen operations.
Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency meet brand and resort standards.
Lead by example in maintaining cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation standards.
Support menu planning, development, and execution in collaboration with the Executive Chef.
Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff; foster a positive and professional work environment.
Monitor inventory levels and control food costs through efficient ordering and waste reduction.
Assist with scheduling, labor management, and kitchen budget adherence.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health regulations.
Step in to lead kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef.
Qualifications & Skills
3+ years of culinary leadership experience, preferably in a hotel, resort, or high‑volume environment.
Degree or certification in Culinary Arts preferred but not required.
Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment.
Proven ability to manage kitchen operations, inventory, and labor cost controls.
