Job Description
Position Overview:
As a Journeyman Carpenter, you will be responsible for performing a variety of carpentry tasks on construction projects, including framing, trim work, cabinetry, and other wood‑related tasks. You will work closely with other team members to ensure the successful completion of projects while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall to precise specifications
Construct, install, and repair structures such as frameworks, partitions, stairways, and rafters
Build and install cabinets, shelving, doors, and other fixtures
Ensure all work is completed according to local building codes and safety regulations
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications
Collaborate with other trades to ensure smooth project flow
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations on job sites
Provide mentorship and guidance to apprentices and junior carpenters, as needed
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Journeyman Carpenter (minimum of 3 years of experience)
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and building codes
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
