Evendale Fire Inspector (F1-A) - 2nd Shift

This position provides services in support of Life Safety, Fire Protection, Emergency Response (Haz Mat, Confined Space, and Fall Hazard Rescue) and Fire System Monitoring, ensuring a safe and secure environment for employees and visitors. The incumbent will respond to medical emergencies in coordination with local agencies and prevent fires through inspection of portable extinguishers, fixed fire suppression systems, and fire separation devices.
Essential Responsibilities
Respond and/or control and mitigate all reported fires, spills, releases, confined space, and fall (high angle) rescue operations.
Respond to medical emergencies with ability to provide CPR/AED and Paramedic level services.
Inspect and report deficiencies related to potential fire hazards, safety hazards, and egress requirements as outlined in GE Standards, Ohio Fire Code, OSHA, NFPA, and other regulatory and insurance service requirements.
Inspect, test, and assist in shutdown of all fire protection sprinkler systems, fixed systems, and other fire prevention systems; monitor plant fire alarms and report/respond to all reported alarms.
Complete neat, accurate, and comprehensive written reports and maintain fire-related computerized records and recording devices.
Qualifications / Requirements
High School Diploma / GED.
Minimum of 5 years of Fire Protection or related field experience.
Eligibility Requirements
Certified State Fire Inspector.
Certified State of Ohio Firefighter Level 2.
Experienced and State of Ohio Certified Paramedic, or ability to obtain Ohio Paramedic certification within 6 months.
Certified Hazardous Materials Technician.
Desired Characteristics
Experienced Safety Officer.
State Certified Fire Instructor.
Confined Space Rescue Certification.
Supervisory experience.
Individual who is self-directed, team oriented, takes initiative, and follows through.
Person who aspires to become a leader within the team and Plant Protection Organization.
