Position Overview The primary responsibility of the Supervisor – Threat and Risk Intelligence is to collect, analyze, and disseminate intelligence related to potential security and operational risks impacting The Venetian Resort, its Guests and Team Members. The role supports proactive mitigation efforts by identifying potential threats, trends, and vulnerabilities through investigative research, open-source intelligence (OSINT), and collaboration with other intelligence sharing partners and law enforcement. This position enhances the resort’s overall security posture through intelligence-driven investigations, event threat/risk assessment, and proactive collaboration with law enforcement and executive leadership. The incumbent plays a critical role in maintaining situational awareness and ensuring that threat levels and mitigation strategies remain current, actionable, and aligned with The Venetian Resort’s commitment to guest and team member safety.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct and prioritize intelligence-driven research to identify and assess internal and external risks, influencing strategic security decisions.
Lead OSINT and social media monitoring initiatives, identifying emerging threats, and recommending proactive mitigation strategies.
Collect, review, and analyze intelligence data using internal systems, LVMPD Fusion Center reports, and other credible sources.
Evaluate and monitor upcoming special events, concerts, vendor exhibitions, rallies, and other high-attendance activities to determine potential security and operational risks to the property, its Guests and Team Members applying judgment to classify the threat level and risk associated with the organization.
Maintain initial and ongoing threat levels for events based on established tiered risk classifications and recommend the appropriate security posture for the department.
Use all available intelligence to regularly monitor risk indicators before, during, and after events, maintaining situational awareness and providing updated intelligence as conditions evolve.
Participate in dynamic risk reassessment, modifying event threat classifications when warranted by new intelligence, environmental changes, or from internal or external information.
Develop and present strategic intelligence reports and risk assessments to senior leadership, providing expert recommendations that guide organizational security strategy.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
Attend meetings and coordinate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), law enforcement liaisons, and external intelligence sharing partners, e.g., LVMPD, Nevada Gaming Control Board, Southern Nevada Counter Terrorism Center and other reliable intelligence partners.
Develop and maintain intelligence files, investigative case documentation, and trend analyses to support operational readiness and decision-making.
Ensure that all investigative and intelligence activities comply with federal, state, and local laws, as well as departmental and company policies.
Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive or classified information.
Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
Minimum Qualifications
21 years of age.
Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, intelligence studies, or a related field preferred.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Driver’s License, Nevada Gaming Control Board Registration, Techniques of Alcohol Management (TAM) Card, and any other certification or license as required by law or policy.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in security investigations, intelligence analysis, or law enforcement within a hotel, casino, or related environment is preferred.
Demonstrated experience in intelligence collection, threat assessment, and criminal investigative research.
Working knowledge of law enforcement databases, open-source intelligence (OSINT) tools, and analytical reporting methods.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with Guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirementsh3>
Lift or carry 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without reasonable accommodations.
Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with Guests, management, other Team Members, and outside contacts.
Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
